Dr. Dunn, DSW-C, MSW, ASW, is the founder of Dr. Dunn Dynamic Consulting, a firm dedicated to improving outcomes for mothers, children, and families through culturally responsive consulting, training, and program development. With over a decade of experience, Dr. Dunn began her career in Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Programs (STRTPs), providing direct care and support to children in foster care between the ages of 5 and 18. She later expanded her work to include justice-involved youth in residential treatment settings, gaining valuable insight into the needs of adolescents navigating both the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.
Her experience in behavioral skills development, case management, and counseling has equipped her with a strong foundation in trauma-informed care and navigating complex systems. Dr. Dunn earned her Bachelor of Arts in Human Development with a concentration in Child Development from California State University, San Bernardino. She continued her academic journey at California Baptist University, where she earned both her Master’s in Social Work and is currently completing her Doctorate of Social Work (DSW). Her doctoral work focuses on maternal health disparities, with a particular emphasis on improving care and outcomes for marginalized communities during pregnancy and postpartum.
As a Clinical Social Worker, she works directly with families facing systemic barriers, and she brings that firsthand insight into her consulting work. Her goal is to support organizations in creating sustainable, equity-centered practices that improve the lives of those most often overlooked in traditional systems of care. Dr. Dunn Dynamic Consulting aims to strengthen programs, train professionals, and transform systems to better serve marginalized communities—especially those impacted by foster care, the justice system, and maternal health disparities.
Through this work, Dr. Dunn collaborates with healthcare systems, early childhood programs, nonprofits, government agencies, community-based organizations, and academic institutions to design and implement equity-driven, trauma-informed solutions. Whether leading strategic planning sessions, facilitating professional development, or supporting curriculum design, the goal is to help organizations create sustainable, community-centered impact. Drawing from both lived experience and clinical expertise, Dr. Dunn ensures each collaboration is thoughtful, informed, and rooted in real-world understanding.
